20 May 2009 - Today marks a historic moment for Singapore as the NATAS Singapore Women's Everest Team has successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest , the world's highest peak at 8,850 metres above sea level.
Lee Li Hui, 27, Esther Tan, 26, and Jane Lee, 25, of the NATAS Singapore Women's Everest Team stood on top of the world at 3.45 a.m., 3.54 a.m. and 4.43 a.m. (Nepal time) respectively, making them the first all-Singaporean women's team to reach the tallest point in the world.
The second summit team is currently on the way from Camp 2 to Camp 3 and they are planning to reach the summit on 22 May.
